Women Keep Silent In Church: No!

Hi everyone :)

The devil hates God and hates the word of God and if he could delete, nullify, get rid of half the human's speech about God then he would. Of course the devil has many different ways of trying to get rid of the word of God and one of those ways is through misinterpretation of scripture. Imagine the devil being able to forbid women from speaking! Well thank God that our great God does not forbid women to speak in church and elsewhere.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35 says:

"Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church."(AKJV)

But straight after it says:

"What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?" (verse 36)

Basically Paul lists a bundle of incorrect thinking here which the Corinthians (or some of the Corinthians) are thinking. They have been forcing (or trying to force) women not to speak by making up a law of their own. Paul repeats the law that they have made up. Then he says other falsities: the word of God came only out from them etc.

These are obvious falsities and Paul is shocked that the Corinthians have made up this law. How do we know? From his list of falsities and also from the sentence statements of verses 34 and 35 which make the claim: "...as also saith the law..." Wait! Stop right there! The law does not say that! Nowhere in the books of the law does it say that.

Why? Because women are allowed to speak. Because God loves women. Because God has given women a voice.

Churches or Christians who enforce or try to enforce that women should not speak are actually abusive and not following Godly direction. So many other passages make it clear that women are to take an active role in being a witness for Christ and yes! with their voice.

So with our voice we can and must speak because we are to be a witness of Christ.

Thank you God that you love women as well men! Thank you that you do not forbid us from speaking and we can come to you anytime for wisdom and understanding. And thank you that you speak to us and you hear us.
