Hi everyone :)
I talk today about divorce and shame in the church. Some Christians are unaware of the shame that other people who call themselves Christians and even leaders in churches have placed on divorced Christians.
I have had leaders tell me not to talk to divorced people and have also seen leaders basically run divorced people out of church. Because of my circumstances (of being taught to continually submit to any authority or anyone who pushes their agenda of control on me) I have in the past just caved in to church leaders and other Christians. I reveal some of the things that have happened in church to people.
I also speak about the effect of my own divorce and how I had to face the shame and humiliation that people imposed on me. Many church leaders I have seen have on purpose rejected divorced Christians (sometimes overtly and sometimes covertly). Is this what God wants? No. How does God see a person? Here I tackle some of these issues surrounding divorce, the church and Christians.
I hope you are made aware of the desire of God's heart to love and welcome divorced people into the church and that people who reject others because of them being divorced are not following God the way they should.
Blessings to you!
Lots of love from Ohroara :)
